Sponsorship
WFWI reports that its sponsorship program costs $35 per month. Sponsorship provides a woman with a monthly stipend for food, clothes, water, and shelter, trade or business skills training, and information on human rights. Women for Women International (WFWI) reports that it serves women in conflict affected countries offering support, tools, and access to skills training to gain stability and economic self-sufficiency. In 2017, the organization states that 11,983 women graduated from its social and economic empowerment program. WFWI reports that it also served 9,340 women in Afghanistan, 6,786 women in Democratic Republic of Congo, 5,498 women in Nigeria, and 3,147 women in Rwanda with resource and advanced training and business plan competition. In addition, the organization reports that it opened a new office in the Kurdistan region of Iraq and launched its Change Agent program where WFWI trained 160 graduates of its core program to become community mobilizers in Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Nigeria.
