The National Council of the United States of Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) offers a range of human services to those in need via its member local chapters (councils and conferences). Current principal programs include Spiritual Formation, Friends of the Poor and Systemic Change grants, International Twinning, domestic and international disaster relief services, operational support, fundraising assistance, and communications. SVDP volunteers provide person-to-person services and work to prevent homelessness by offering immediate aid in the form of rental assistance and helping with utility payments, as well as help with food, prescription medication, household essentials, dental care, and clothing.
