American Humane Association (American Humane) reports that, in 2022, the organization monitored 161 motion pictures and 189 TV series in 21 countries over 3,197 production days. The organization works with production personnel and trainers in the pre-production stage, monitors animals on set during production, and enforces American Humane's Guidelines for the Safe Use of Animals in Filmed Media. American Humane Farm is a farm animal welfare certification program which helps ensure the humane treatment of farm animals. American Humane Rescue deploys to save animal lives in times of crisis, and the organization reports that it helped save, shelter, and feed 492,153 vulnerable animals in 2022. Responders worked to aid animals in need after the Caldor wildfire in California, Hurricane Ian in Florida, and historic flooding in Kentucky. American Humane Lois Pope Life Center for Military Affairs supports the armed forces by training and providing lifesaving service dogs to veterans suffering from PTS and TBI and protecting and recognizing America’s military dogs. American Humane Conservation is a certification program that helps ensure the well-being and humane treatment of animals living in zoos, aquariums, and conservation centers in 12 countries around the world. The program applies evidence-based standards of animal welfare developed by leaders in the field. The American Humane Certified Pet Provider program has audited 1,368 locations encompassing thousands of species and millions of animals. The program helps ensure high standards of welfare for small animals at pet providers nationwide using science-based standards.
