Stated Purpose
"to improve the quality of life for veterans, in our state, living with spinal cord injury or disease, including those with MS and ALS."
Paralyzed Veterans of America - Wisconsin Chapter (PVA Wisconsin) reports that it aims to improve the quality of life for American veterans and others with spinal cord injury or dysfunction. To assist paralyzed veterans, the organization seeks to advocate for health care benefits and services, assist in identifying and securing benefits, promote medical research to cure spinal cord dysfunction, educate the community on physical and legal barriers confronted by disabled persons, and provide opportunities for recreation and sport activities. PVA Wisconsin states that it also works with the Zablocki VA Medical Hospital Spinal Cord Injury Unit to promote involvement in national and local activities.
