Child Sponsorship
Plan USA reports that its child sponsorship program asks sponsors to donate $35 per month to his or her sponsored child, which funds long-term solutions in the sponsored child's community and country. Donations are pooled together to assist the communities at-large from where the children live rather than being received as direct aid to the individual child. Child sponsors will receive a welcome packet with information regarding their sponsored child, the child's family, and community. In addition, sponsors may receive letters from their sponsored child, while also being able to write letters, send small gifts, and visit their sponsored child.
