Anera helps rebuild, upgrade, and improve conditions in hospitals and clinics in Palestine and Lebanon, and distributes millions of dollars' worth of vital medicines, equipment, and health care supplies in the communities where they are needed most in Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Anera is also delivering tens of thousands of hygiene kits to families in Lebanon and Gaza, employing sewing students from their technical and vocational training sewing skills courses to make over a million masks in Lebanon, and employing other students to make and distribute thousands of hot meals and food parcels to families throughout Gaza and Lebanon. In Jordan and Palestine, Anera is now (remotely) training youth coding and soft skills in their recently launched PLUS (People Leveling Up Skills) career accelerator, focusing on women's involvement. Anera opened a new waste sorting facility in Temnin El Foka, Lebanon to recycle materials and mitigate dumping and trash burning that is contributing to air pollution in the country and is implementing a focus on renewable energy in all new construction projects. Anera also works to address water needs across Palestine, providing health care centers in Gaza with new desalination units which purify 2,640 gallons of water a day.
