Stated Purpose
"to provide national leadership and opportunities for individuals with disabilities to develop independence, confidence, and fitness through participation in community sports, competition, recreation, high performance sport and educational programs."
Move United provides sports and recreation opportunities to youth and adults with disabilities. The organization was established in May 2020 as a merger of Disabled Sports USA and Adaptive Sports USA. Move United's programs offer adaptive sports and equipment to individuals with disabilities and severely wounded service members as well as adaptive sports grants for survivors of gun violence or acts of terrorism. The organization hosts sporting events throughout the year, such as Junior Nationals, a national sports championship event for young athletes, as well as a winter sports festival, The Hartford Ski Spectacular. Move United reports that it has over 160 members in 43 states.
