National Park Trust (NPT) serves as a partner to national and local land trusts and friends groups by providing funding to complete park preservation projects. The organization works to cultivate the next generation of environmental stewards and conservation professionals, encourages the protection of public lands and water, and promotes healthier lifestyles through outdoor recreation. NPT's land and park preservation program focuses on land acquisition, restoration, and mitigation projects to protect national parks. The organization's youth programs encourage health and wellness through outdoor recreation, and foster future park stewards and conservationists. Individual programs include the Buddy Bison School program that engages kids with the great outdoors by providing multiple fully funded park experiences throughout the school year that align with classroom curricula; the College Ambassador program provides college students and schools with the resources needed to lead outdoor initiatives on their campuses and offers exposure to career and employment opportunities within the park and outdoor industries; and the Military Family program that provides veterans and active-duty servicemen and women and their families with memorable outdoor park experiences in a variety of public parks, lands, and waters nationwide.
