Child Sponsorship
SOS reports that it allows donors to sponsor a child, sponsor a family, and sponsor a village. A sponsor may choose to donate $35, $55 or $95 per month. Child sponsorship supplies children with a home, education, and the provision of food, medical care, and other basic needs. Family sponsorship provides a family with stability that allows the family to remain together and allows for the provision of essential items. Village sponsorship pays for teachers, social workers, and childcare professionals, school books, uniforms, food, and access to healthcare, clean water, and building maintenance. A child sponsor will receive regular updates and photographs of their sponsored child and will be able to send letters and small gifts to their sponsored child. A family sponsor will receive a welcome packet containing information about the country in which the sponsored family lives and quarterly updates regarding the family's wellbeing. A village sponsor will receive a welcome packet about the sponsored village, along with a photo and description of the village. In addition, village sponsors will receive a letter twice a year about the wellbeing of the village and basic updated information on the village and its facilities.
