Such promotions should disclose, at the point of solicitation: (a) the actual or anticipated portion of the purchase price that will benefit the charity (e.g., 5 cents will be contributed to abc charity for every xyz company product sold), (b) the duration of the campaign (e.g., the month of October), (c) any maximum or guaranteed minimum contribution amount (e.g., up to a maximum of $200,000).
Marathon Kids does not meet this Standard because, in the past year, the organization participated in promotions for the sale of consumer goods or services that indicated that the organization would benefit from these purchases. The promotions, however, did not specify:

Marathon Kids meets the remaining 18 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Marathon Kids works to get kids moving through the organization's run clubs. The organization reports that their run clubs allow kids to set goals and track progress as they complete up to four marathons, or 104.8 miles, over the course of the running season. Children participating in the run clubs are able to work at their own pace to complete the miles. By partnering with schools, community organizations, and families to start run clubs around the country, Marathon Kids states that it sets the course for long-term behavior adoption through effective, customizable, and fun programming.
