The BBB Wise Giving Alliance promotes ethical standards within the charitable community, provides information to the public on charitable organizations, and educates individual and institutional donors on wise giving.

The Alliance encourages charitable organizations to accept the responsibility of self-regulation and adhere to the ethical practices outlined in the voluntary BBB charity standards.

Producing Charity Reports

The BBB Wise Giving Alliance only reports on charities that solicit nationally. If your charity is local or regional in scope, please contact the local Better Business Bureau serving the area in which you are located to see if it has a local charity program.

From time to time, we may receive a complaint from a donor about your organization. If we do, we will send a copy of the complaint to you, and ask that your organization take the appropriate steps to resolve the complaint to the satisfaction the consumer.

In addition, we are always happy to provide charities with information, such as our brochure "Responsibilities of a Charity's Volunteer Board", and we are happy to advise charities about our standards and about how an organization can meet our standards.
